YSEALI Power of Human Capital Workshop (Call for Nominations)

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta is pleased to announce a call for applications to the YSEALI Generation Workshop “Power of Human Capital”

 
Program Description: The “Power of Human Capital Workshop” is designed for young leaders in ASEAN who want to deepen their understanding and application of the ”soft skills” that employers seek while laying the foundation for a meaningful and rewarding career for either themselves or other young people. This workshop offers courses that develop the workforce behavioral knowledge, skills and attitudes that are highly valued by employers.

The Workshop has two tracks:
Track 1: Advancing My Career

This portion of the workshop is targeted towards young professionals (aged 18-25) who are preparing to enter the workforce or have secured their first job and seek to strengthen their soft skills.

Requirements:
-       Young professionals (aged 18-25)
-       Less than 3 years of full-time employment.

Track 2: Bridging the Gap
 
This portion of the workshop is targeted towards young professionals (aged 24-35) who are employed by organizations in which they are in a position to improve workforce development programming for significant numbers of young people in their home country or ASEAN.

Requirements:
-       Young professionals (aged 24 – 35)
-       At least 1 year of experience working directly to improve workforce development skills and opportunities for young people in ASEAN
-       Have the commitment to share key learnings outcomes with peers and community member in his/ her country.

Application instructions:
-       Write 250 words explaining how this training will contribute to your workforce skills in a way that meets and advances your career goals, and  how you plan to share key learning outcomes of this workshop with peers in your home country.
-       Attach current CV.
-       Submit your application to IndonesiaAlumni@state.gov no later than Monday, September 29th 2014 at 07.00 WIB
-       When submitting your application please put “YSEALI Singapore Workshop, Track 1” (or Track 2, if applicable) in the subject line.

If you are selected to participate in this Workshop, you will receive:
·         3-day hands-on skill-building workshop alongside 50-60 young ASEAN leaders
·         Roundtrip economy-class airfare from your home country to Singapore
·         4 nights of accommodation in Singapore
·         Ground transportation to/from airport
·         All meals
·         Compensation for visa costs
